Still Light Yoga A slower way to move

Yin Yoga in Riverside

Long-held, supported poses that soften the body and quiet the mind.

A student resting in a supported yin pose

Yin Yoga invites you to slow down and hold space for your body to soften. You'll spend several minutes in each pose, supported and comfortable, while your deeper tissues release and your mind grows quiet. This practice is for anyone who moves too fast, holds too much tension, or is curious about what happens when you stop pushing.

  • Long-held poses (3–5 minutes each) that reach deep layers

Questions

Is Yin Yoga boring or too slow?

Yin feels different from what most of us are used to, but it's never boring. When you stop moving, you notice what you couldn't see before — your breath, your edges, where you hold tension. Many people find it deeply nourishing.

Will I be bored if I've done other yoga?

Yin complements every other practice. Athletes, runners and intense practitioners especially benefit — it gives your nervous system permission to rest and helps you recover fully.

What if I can't sit still for that long?

Yin teaches stillness as a skill, not a failing. Your teacher will help you find comfort in each pose with props. Over time, you'll discover that stillness is actually quite active inside.
